Episode 103
🎼. Dum ti dum ti dum ti dum...
Elizabeth: Freddie, darling, I’ve been thinking about your idea for closing Lower Loxsley to the general public and turning it into an exclusive upstairs-downstairs experience.
Freddie: Great - when do we start ? I’ve been trying on those old staff uniforms I found in the attic - it’ll be a blast.
Elizabeth: No, I’m sorry, Freddie, but I don’t want to do that. In fact I’ve decided to sell up.
Freddie: What ? You can’t do that ! It’s my inheritance - and Lily’s.
Elizabeth: I’m sorry but I realise now that I’ve spent too much of my life trying to keep this house and estate together. It was bad enough before Nigel fell off the roof but since then it’s just got harder and harder. It’s time I thought about myself.
Freddie: But where are you going to go ? What are you going to do ?
Elizabeth: I might get myself a little place in the south of France or Tuscany to begin with. I’ve always wanted to paint more - Russ thinks I have real talent.
Freddie: But where will Lily and I live ? Lower Loxsley has always been our home.
Elizabeth: I’m sure I could let you and Lily have one of the cottages on the edge of the estate - I don’t need to sell them all.
Freddie: I’m sorry but I don’t fancy sharing a cottage with Lily and Russ.
Elizabeth: You won’t have to, Russ is coming with me.
(loud thud as Freddie hits the floor)

(Ed. She’s got you there, Freddie - and you thought Roy Tucker was bad.)
