Episode 141

🎼. Dum ti dum ti dum ti dum...

Jill:  It’s so good of you to take me in like this, Peggy.  David was so cross when he heard about the Young Farmers and the pole-dancing in the barn.

Peggy:  That’s no problem at all, Jill.  It will be lovely to have some company.  It’s been quite lonely since Kate moved out leaving just me and Hilda in the house.

(Hilda:  Two’s company, three's a crowd on this sofa.)

Jill:  I feel a bit guilty about Josh, he’s been thrown out of the farm, too.

Peggy:  Where’s he gone ?

Jill:  Kenton has taken him in at The Bull in return for some shifts in the bar.

Peggy:  That’s good of him.

Jill:  To be honest I think Kenton’s done it to annoy David.  They were always fighting as boys and have never really grown out of it.

Peggy: And what about your gentleman friend, Leonard ?  Is he still at Brookfield ?

Jill:  I am very disappointed in Leonard.  He’s completely taken David’s side and has gone up north, hopefully to recover his sense of humour.

Peggy:  I don’t know what the fuss is about.  We had a very enjoyable evening with some very charming and athletic young men.

Jill:  Exactly. And this time no-one called the police, no-one tried to ravage the performers and we only needed one ambulance.

Peggy: It was unfortunate that Chris fell off the hay bale but thankfully she’s only cracked her hip, not broken it.

(door bell rings)

Peggy:  Now who can that be, I’m not expecting anyone.

Jill:  I can see Jennifer and Lilian through the window and they look quite cross.

Peggy:  Let’s get down behind the sofa - I can do without another lecture from those two.

(Hilda:  I don’t remember signing up for this madness.)

🎼  Dum ti dum ti dum ti dum...

(Ed.  Neither do I, Hilda.)
