Episode 147
🎼. Dum ti dum ti dum ti dum...
Freddie: Do you know where Mum is, Lily ? We need to talk to her about what happens next at Lower Loxsley.
Lily: Well, we can put a chain and padlock on the roof access for a start. It’s not really good for business to have people falling off during opening hours.
Freddie: I’ll speak to the maintenance guys about that. Now, where is Mum ?
Lily: She took Russ to the station after breakfast. He’s going back to his wife to ‘live a normal life’ as he puts it.
Freddie: That’s a relief, I think he was working too hard on that limp. It was getting on my nerves.
Lily: Let’s not talk about Russ any more. I’m completely over him and it’s time to move on.
Freddie: Good to hear. Now, I don’t know how you feel about the old place but Mum's idea of running off to somewhere warm, leaving the family millstone behind, is starting to appeal. I mean, do we want to spend the rest of our lives propping up Lower Loxsley ?
Lily: I must admit I had been thinking the same thing. Living here has been a nightmare since Mum went a bit mad and you went to jail. Keeping it all together has put years on me and it would be a relief to make a new start somewhere else.
Freddie: Okay, I’ll phone Usha tomorrow to see how the legal work to pass the estate to us is coming on. Meanwhile, not a word to Mum.
Lily: Oh, I can see Mum parking her car now. There’s someone with her. They’re getting out. They’re holding hands !
Freddie: What ! Who is it ?
Lily: Oh my God, it’s Roy Tucker ! What are we going to do ?
Freddie: Don’t panic, I’ve got Usha on speed dial.
