Ruth:  Dayvid, what on Earth is goin on ?  Ah go away for a coupla days and everythin’s gan wrang.

David:  Sorry, love, I didn’t think you were coming back until tomorrow and I thought I would have had everything sorted by then.

Ruth:  Soa what is Josh doin back on the farm ?  We sent him to Kenton.

David:  My flakey brother is hopeless.  It was a stupid idea thinking Kenton might straighten Josh out.

Ruth:  What happened, like ?

David:  Apparently Kenton had a lock-in, Josh had too much to drink, Jolene found out and threw them both out.

Ruth:  Where’s Kenton now ?

David: Shula took pity on him and I had to take Josh back, didn’t I ?

Ruth:  Ah suppose so.  But what’s your mother doin back in the kitchen?  Ah thought she was banned from bakin.

David:  She was, I mean is.  But we got a wasps nest and Eddie needed paid and, well, you know how things are cash-wise round here ...

Ruth:  Soa, what’s she doin ?

David:  Couple of dozen lemon drizzle cakes for Eddie to sell privately to his special customers.

Ruth:  Aaaw, naaaw, Dayvid. Not that again. We canna have the police round here again.  Me nerves just won’t stand it.

David:  Well, can you think of another way of paying Eddie ? I was desperate.

Ruth:  Ah’ll have a think about it while you go and tell Jill to ditch the bakin.

David:  Okay, love, I know you’ll be able to come up with a solution to get us out of this mess.

(door closes) 

Ruth:  Ah knew Ah shoulda run off with that dairyman while Ah had the chance.  Ah wonder if Ah’ve still got his numba...
